Fun Fall Day!

We had a very busy day enjoying all the warm autumn fun! We went to the Blue Vista Orchard and picked apples. Then all the boys ran around enjoying the warm weather. Jackson and Thomas picked out two fat pumpkins for carving. We ate a yummy lunch outside in the sunshine and we played with our fun W.A.K.O. friends!

After we picked up Ashton from school we went home and got our carving supplies ready. Then we cut out the tops of our pumpkins, I (notice I said I here and not WE) cleaned out all the pumpkin ickies. The boys drew what they wanted their pumpkins to look like on one side and I carved out the other. Ashton and Jack took pictures while Mommy did all the hard work.

Then TJ got a hold of the camera. He took some awesome pics from a two year old perspective.

I took the camera back, he's sad.
Jackson wanted his pumpkin to have angry eyes, but a smiling mouth (with two top teeth).

Ashton wanted his pumpkin to have square eyes, triangle nose, and a happy mouth.

They turned out nice. Jack wanted his jack-o-lantern lit, even though it was 4 pm. So I did, you can barely see the flame. But, later that night, I took the boys outside and lit them both up. The kids loved it!!!

I forgot how fun carving jack-o-lanterns can be. It has been years (if ever) I have done this. Now if only I could get Ashton's costume figured out!!!!!
I hope we get a few more of these wonderful days before the snow begins to fall.

Great pumpkins! It is still so warm here that if we carve too early the pumpkins literally melt and rot before Halloween! Yuck!

Great shot!! Thanks for sending me a little bit of "Fall." I do miss this season.

Now I'm off in my flip flops and shorts to go pick up the Oldest.

Amen Michelle!
